title: Skin polish to smoother new skin
date: Wednesday, November 13, 2013
time : 11:40 AM

Since I did this once a month DIY body treatment last night, I will write about this amazing 'Skin Polish Bath' first. My best skin polish ever, natural baking soda (Reds Mill has Organic Baking soda) + natural Method Pure Naked Body Wash, create it into a paste. It's just like after getting a microdermabrasion treatment, a natural exfoliator doing amazing job at removing those dead cell, the outer layer of the skin which is the culprit for skin dullness, roughness and wrinkles.

This not only for skin renewal but also for better absorption of skincare (no chemicals in the after care products, you don’t want your new skin soaking all that in).

u can read up more online, some people have their scientific said that it is not good on skin cause of the strong PH. But still I decided to try it and I love it cause my dark spot on my arm are lightened so much, not very sure is it because of this or dry brushing but I think it does contribute slightly. Do read up because you decide whether or not to try. Once a month is the max. :)

I still don’t dare to try it on my face as I have pretty sensitive skin on my face. I don’t want to risk it on my face so I give it a try on my body instead and I spot test it before rubbing it in a circular motion over my body. Rinse it off with water, pat dry my skin and apply natural jojoba oil (amazing properties of balancing the skin) on my skin.

If you are allergic to baking soda (or have sensitive skin), your skin may become irritated and red after using baking soda. Please take extra precaution, do a spot test, if it irritate your sensitive skin, stop using it immediately

Many people use as follows:

A face exfoliator./ Deep Cleansing
Some people find that plain baking soda on its own is grainy enough to be a gentle scrub. You can also add a teaspoon to your cleanser or add a tablespoon each of baking soda and water along with 2 teaspoons of oat flour to get a deeper cleaning.

Acne and Blackheads
Baking soda will not only clean and help with acne, it also helps remove blackheads and smooth your skin! People use baking soda for skin care in the form of an acne mask. After washing your face, mix a teaspoon of baking soda with warm water until you have a paste and apply it all over your face. Leave it on for about 5-10 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Though what I read online are mostly people experience good result from it but I do read that people warn not to use it as they have their scientific chemistry said that it is not good for skin cause of high alkaline PH level. But still I decided to try it, noticing that many skincare and AHA use that in their ingredient too and surprising I found that the person who wrote that recommended a so call natural AHA product as an alternative exfoliator which has Baking Soda in it as an ingredient too. Which seems a little odd that he/she would recommend a product that actually contains the very thing he/she was ranting about?

Well, So far I love it because my dark spot on my arm are lightened so much, not very sure is it benefited from of this or dry brushing but I think it does contribute slightly. Once a month is the max if I’m too worry

interesting to know baking soda can do much things :) thanks for sharing, Apple! not only you have angelic face, you also have a heart of gold :)

just saw this in my facebook hehe so like to share with you (i copy and paste hehe)

5 Vitamin Cures for Fantastic Skin

1. Vitamin C: Exfoliator.
Mix a teaspoon or two of vitamin C powder (ascorbic acid) with some almond milk until you get a nice paste, and massage it into your face with a little brush. Once you feel it tingle, rinse and apply some rosewater. Do this 3-5 times a week, and your skin texture will improve quickly. Don't use on injured skin, as ascorbic acid burns in open wounds.

2. Vitamin E: Anti-Wrinkle Treatment.
Just squeeze the content of one vitamin E capsule onto fine lines of your clean face before you go to bed, and you'll be as good as new when you wake up the next morning.

3. Omega-3 fatty acids: Face Mask.
Skin-wise, omega-3 fatty acids are perfect for reducing inflammation, lines and wrinkles, and they even help you fight clogged pores. If you want to use them externally, mix a little bit of finely ground chia seeds with some organic yogurt and a splash of flaxseed oil, and stir thoroughly. Apply on your skin like a face mask and rinse with lukewarm water after 15-20 minutes. If you do this before you go to bed at night, you'll still feel the moisturizing and rejuvenating effects the next day.

4. Zinc: Moisturizer.
Zinc is a powerful nutrient. It promotes cell renewal, has a skin-soothing effect and is a terrific acne buster. If you want to increase your zinc intake, salmon, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, garlic, chickpeas or shrimp are great sources.

5. B Vitamins: Overall Skin Health.
B vitamins are vital for healthy skin and could easily be considered genuine skincare heroes. Because B-vitamins are water soluble and get washed out if your body doesn't use them right away, it's important to replace them daily. If you want to give it a try, buy clams, mussels, crab, beef or lamb next time you go shopping, or simply find a good (preferably organic) supplement.

Enjoy!

Early merry christmas wishes to you and family! :)

Thanks Ling for sharing the above on Vitamin Cures.

1. I have vitamin C powder and perhaps I shall give it a try on mixing it with my almond milk.

2. Didn't know that other than popping Vitamin E capsule into my mouth, I can squeeze the oil out and apply onto those fine lines. Will try that one day too

3. I just had a tub of organic yogurt and a cup of chia seed nuts milk. Those stuff that I'm eating all these while are with lotsa of benefits ya. I don't have flaxseed oil at home but only the flaxseed powder. Wondering just just apply my omega-3 oil supplement on the clogged pores along will help?

4. I do take this zinc supplement and those food high in zinc.

5. I don't eat those clam, mussle etc except crab but not often too. But I do take B complex supplement all the while.

It's really Interesting to know the above. Thanks ya ;D
